Yet you do not lose weight so you think of getting something like a gastric bypass surgery to achieve that end.

Having said that you need to understand that compulsive eating makes you eat big meals with a two-hour gap in between. And once you begin eating you begin to lose confidence that you can control binging. You may eat really fast, or eat till you feel stuffed, eat when you do not have the urge to do so, privately and be ashamed of it, or feel depressed or guilty after a binge.
